Arizona is 12th State to Award TVI with an Order to Outfit its Hospitals with Decontamination Equipment 10/23/2003 3:11:00 PM GLENN DALE, Md., Oct 23, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- TVI Corporation ( TVIN ), a leading supplier of rapid deployment shelters and chemical/biological decontamination systems for the military, public health, and first response agencies, announced today that the State of Arizona is outfitting all its key hospitals with TVI Decontamination Systems. The equipment being purchased from TVI will allow every hospital in the state to decontaminate self-presenters ensuring the hospital remains open and able to continue to treat personnel.
The $1 million order, being processed through Fisher Safety, TVI's Distributor, will outfit approximately 65 hospitals with TVI's state-of-the-art Two Line Decontamination Systems including shelters, litter conveyors and water management systems.
The decontamination systems being bought by Arizona utilize the most recent advances in decontamination technology including the new Active Curtains(TM) feature and leverages TVI's expertise in water heaters and solution injection systems.
These systems will be among the first being delivered by TVI that incorporate its new proprietary Intellijet(TM) nozzles, built with patent pending technology that maximizes the cleaning efficiency of the delivered water.
The State of Arizona choice to standardize on TVI equipment for its hospitals gives it additional interoperability and efficiencies as the equipment mirrors systems being delivered to the States of Washington and California and the equipment currently in use by FEMA's Urban Search and Rescue Teams as well as the National Medical Response Teams.
This award, following an exhaustive evaluation process, will help enable the state's hospitals to respond to unexpected disasters, both from natural causes and terrorism.
"Arizona is the 12th State to standardize on TVI products and we are committed to delivering the best decontamination equipment possible to ensure the safety of the citizens of this great nation," stated Rick Priddy, CEO of TVI Corporation. "The market for decontamination equipment has grown rapidly over the past few years. In 2004 federal spending for Homeland Security, of which decontamination equipment is a part, is budgeted to be $36.2 Billion. We expect to capitalize on this growth by offering superior products and service to health care providers around the world." |
