Jurgis,

If I remember correctly (and please correct me if I'm wrong), in the last two years that were pretty good for buying G&Ks, Mike Buckley was the ONLY ONE on this thread to discuss concrete company valuations.

Thanks for the compliment, but I believe there were at least a few others. Pirah comes immediately to mind.

if nobody was discussing valuations when they were reasonable and perhaps low, how can G&K thread expect that the participants will not buy at the top again and will not experience the suffering quoted in numerous posts?

Despite what we know about the harm of cigarettes, people still smoke them. Similarly, they eat fried chicken, cheeseburgers and french fries weekly if not daily. They drink and drive. And almost every investor buying common stocks spends more time researching a new car purchase than a stock purchase, knowing that the day they drive the car off the lot it will lose more value than any day except the day it gets totaled in a crash.

My point? Regardless of how little or how much valuation is discussed, there will always be G&K participants buying at a top. Lots of 'em.
