This is a cost Intel should have to bear.

I look upon it as a cost the employee should have to bear. It's his health, not the employers. This all stems from the concept that "Healthcare is a right." That is like saying "Food is a right." But we don't make anybody subsidize their employees grocery bills. At least, not yet!

I ran my business in California with independent contractors only. I paid the Cabinet maker for building and installing the cabinets under his Contractors License. I paid my salesmen as independents, which is legal in California.

I had a friend that really went over the line. He owned a trash business and was getting killed by workmen's comp insurance. We have a "Contractor" law in california that is set up to handle guys who bring crews out to do agricultural work. So he set up a fictional "Jose Himenez" Labor contractor and ran all the checks to his people through him.

When he would get called in on a Workman's Comp case, he would tell the Judge, "he doesn't work for me, he works for Jose." Where's Jose? "I don't know, I think he is in Mexicali right now." Got away with it for years. He is dead now, so I don't worry anymore about posting it.

I am reminded of this because of the Wal Mart raid. They were going with "low bidder" on their cleaning contracts, and you can be damn sure the contract they made the guy sign specified that all the "Form 91s" were filed.

But they will get to Wal Mart because they are so big. So they will cut some sort of IRS deal.

What gets me is that these IRS types could pick up 300 illegals anytime they wanted to drive a bus by the labor shapeups in my old area of Orange County. But they are too lazy to do it. They want the big media splash of going after Wal Mart.
