The good people on the left in our country seek to deny the freedom of speech to those who have a Christian point of view and are seeking to the best that the courts will allow to get all mention of God ex-spounged from any public forum.

Some extremists may be trying to do that. I don't think there are many of them, although it only takes one to raise an issue, such as the Pledge. Perhaps all that publicity generated by a few makes it seem like that POV applies to a large segment of the population. I know lots of non-believers and I don't know any who would do that. The non-believers I know know the difference between "expunging God from any public forum" and requiring little kids utter a pledge acknowledging God. There is plenty of middle ground here, somewhere between the demons and demonizers on one side and those on the other.

Now our elected officials have broken Article 10 so many times in the name of "helping the people" that we no longer remember that the power of the federal government is limited to those powers expressly given it by the constitution.

Yes, indeed. I completely agree that that is a huge part of the problem, one that should get the highest possible priority in our approach to problem solving. If we could only fix one thing, that would be a really good choice, IMO.
