I agree with that statement. Where I part ways with Senator Kerry is in how often that statement applies. He has applied it to so many weapons systems that we would be in a very weak posture had his point of view prevailed. Clinton did cut military spending quite significantly during his tenure, but there were those among the Democrats who would have wanted to cut it more. It sure looks to me like Kerry was in that camp. He didn't even think it was an appropriate use of military power to oust Saddam from Kuwait in 1991. He didn't think that the Stealth bomber should have been built. He didn't support a dozen other weapons programs I cited in my earlier post.

And that's just one issue. There are others in which his prortrayal of himself as a "moderate" is highly questionable. Much like yours.
