I feel a little silly posting messages by myself...but it has only been a couple hours since I started my thread. Already I fell off the topic--long time horizon ideas, the ASFT is clearly not a 20 year idea...more like a 20 day.

So back on topic...the next 20 year idea is SAVINGS.
Americans rank pretty low on the ol' savings statistic, and I'd bet GenXers would be less likely than the boomers to be saving. Nevertheless, here Xers have an advantage--20 years of savings can add up...even at crappy money market rates.

So that is my second idea (we wont count speculative ASFT--which does not belong here...ooops). I've harped on the virtue of savings on other threads in the past few months so I wont here--just trust me on this one, it's a winner.
