the problem is that the system we have basically covers the uninsured with emergency room services paid for by the states and local taxpayers. So for you or I to say "screw em, they have to take care of themselves"... doesn't really work. So then you are left with a bunch of minimum wage people working for Intel who can't afford any kind of health coverage, who should pay? It has to be either you and me, or Intel/Oracle etc. It cannot be the worker, because they are not compensated with the means to afford their own care. That is the entire reason Intel and Oracle engage in these practices.

Oracle brings in workers on L1 visas, pays them room and board and $150/day into a foreign bank account. If they wanted to buy their own healthcare here, they probably couldn't. Enough is enough imho, these companies are robbing the counties and states blind. Workers like this are entirely subsidized by my taxes.
