<<There is no way of knowing whether or not just doing the same as we had been would have produced the same results or not, ie. no attacks on the USA >>>
True that the lack of attacks does not measure the success off the war. Rumsfled discussed the difficulties of doing that.
One small utility just issued $9.7 bill in bonds. The loss of this one utility alone would be staggering . Perhaps $20 bill , or the amount we plan to spend on reconstruction in IRAQ.
The US will pay what it takes to win the war on terror, there is just too much at risk economically and
people wise. Our economy has the resources. Bill Gates, with a small loan, could fund the entire sum spent on Iraq.
A Nation-wide lottery could fund it, considering how much is spent on lotteries overall.
My biggest concern is in keeping the ball rolling, maintain the effort, as we are much inclined to dismiss
the threats and go on the some other project if nothing happens on the terrorist front for a time.
