Your problem my friend is that you are assuming that your government is as moral as you are but it is not. I'm sorry that's true but it is.
Your problem is that you actually believe government is some kind of monolithic entity... It's not.
Government is a chaotic holding company for many diverse, and often opposed agencies, often "captured" by various special interests.. Each of these agencies are headed by human beings, appointed to that task, but who are often opposed or thwarted in being successful due to the inertial resistance of lethargic (but proud) civil service..
And each of those department heads jealously guard their turf, as well as the size of their agency, constantly seeking increasing funding for their programs. Take for instance, the constant rivalry between DOD and the State Department.
And we haven't even begun to discuss local constituency politics.
The elitists who are reshaping this world more to their liking have a target of 3 billion, half of todays population.
Oh? And who might those elitists be? The Illuminati? The CFR? Trilateralists? Masons? Jesuits? Chinese Triads, Cali Cartels? Japanese Yakuza? Russian Mafia? Hutchinson-Whampoa? and of course, the Mossad?
And what about the Saudi Wahhabists? Iran's Jerusalem Front and Republican guards?.. And all of the tens of billions of western dollars that finds it way into the hands of Islamic militants..
I mean, my god Sidney.. you have so many "elitists" out there in the world today, each out to prove they are more elite than their rival elitests...
I have no problem accepting that powerful individuals can often influence national strategy. After all, it's not likely they would seek you out for your strategic insight and grasp of reality.
But I DO take offense when people such as yourself CHOOSE to focus only upon the US role, when oftentimes our own policies are dictated as a reaction to the actions of some other international elitist group.
Take for example, France. Here we have a country's political leadership which, at the very time the UN was trying to obtain inspection compliance and avoid an Iraqi invasion, was doing everything possible to undermine that organization in favor of its own oil industry. It, along with Russia, made sweetheart deals with Saddam's regime, all in the hopes of restoring their own sense of economic empire.
Those are the elitists I find myself concerned about.
