Good to hear from you as always!

You said, for example, that I shouldn't own common stocks, if I wasn't willing to do the kind of work that you thought should go into research.

If I wrote that, my apologies. That's certainly not my intention. I believe there are a lot of ways to make money in the stock market and that doing so isn't predicated on utilizing any particular investment or research method. I do maintain, however, that people should be disciplined in whatever approach they select and that most investors haven't selected an approach.

Well, I do research differently from you and I'm up about 90% in the 12 months just ended.

That bit of anecdotal evidence might prove my point. Maybe I'm in the vast majority of people that shouldn't be investing in common stocks. Regardless, congratulations and here's to you doubling your portfolio again in the next 12 months.
