And it seems fair to claim they set it up, since DOD did not get involved until the end with the rescue story.


The media was in their 24/7 spin cycle, with the added fact that they were reporting a war, and looking for bad news to sell. "We continue to triumph!" is boring. So they jumped on the story, and everybody made mistakes. When they get cleared up later, people pick sides as to what they believe and don't believe.

"The Fog of War" is not a trite expression.
