Interesting... I just put a Linear Regression on my SPX chart for the same time span. It doesn't quite match yours and I'm wondering why. I'm using Metastock charting with daily data.

The differences aren't radical, except in a few very obvious spots. Like 8/21 through 8/27 yours shows a falling line, mine a slightly rising line. That happens another time or two. Any ideas why? I think your charts are from MS, aren't they? I'm not going to worry about it, but it is curious.

No matter, I think I'm going to look closer at incorporating Woodie's line on some of my charts and see if I can do something useful. But, it'll have to wait until the glass of wine I just gulped wears off. LOL.
