Gun violence in the suburbs is rare. Gang/drug violence in the cities is common and spills over to innocents too. Dedicating resources to stop rare events in the suburbs is about as usefull as taking an acordian to the swimming pool when you do laps.

I wasn't trying to use any code words. People of all races live in the inner cities. Gang and criminal activity is color blind. I don't care if you are purple, I want gang/drug violence cleaned up rather than ignored because of fear of being accused of being anti-purple. Ignoring where 75% of the gun violence originates because of fear of being called a racist is ludicrous and concentrating on nearly non-existant and relatively rare jealous homicides by guns and kids killing kids in schools is just silly. You devote resources where the greatest good can be obtained and where the majority of the problem lies. Frisking down granny at the airport is another example of a waste of resources better spent elsewhere.
