Actually, I didn't state the question correctly. It is to be expected that PBS watchers will have a different set of misperceptions. I think their error would lie more in the direction of thinking that the world's nations are led mostly by well-meaning people who would love to be democrats but JUST CAN'T because of <make up a reason here>. That the US caused the ME mess (I've seen that one). That there were no Communists burrowed into the US gov't during the Cold War. That supporting people for long periods of time on welfare is a GOOD THING. That the rich are skating by paying little or no taxes. That anyone making $10,000 a year more than them is rich. And probably dishonest.

Pick your misperception. Or more than one.

Also, if that source is citing Fox News as the source of these errors, it is simply wrong. Period. I defy you, them, or anyone else to prove otherwise.

Caveat: That statement is based on the local Fox station. If it is an exception and other stations in other parts of the country are wildly different, then it could be wrong. But, judging from their website, I doubt that is the case. That site appears worldwide.

That your prospects for advancement may depend on your mastery of such arcana as who won the Iraqi war or where exactly Europe is?

Then don't watch Fox News. The more you watch, the more you'll get things wrong.

Tell me: Is your source honestly implying that the Fox reporters or anchors don't know who won Gulf War I and II and where Europe is?

I'm sorry; a statement like thios leads me to doubt either their intelligence or their honesty or both.
