I understand your argument against irrationality, but let's not reduce 9/11 to something as mundane as a guy falling off a ladder, or an idiot driver on a cell phone causing an accident.

This response by a certain group of Americans was totally predictable. When George Bush, after 9/11, declared the war on terror, it was crystal clear that the REAL battle would be fought in the United States, against those who quickly forget about the carnage of 9/11 and would prefer no reaction to the protracted war which is necessary.

I do think most people will remember 9/11. But we ought to have a cable channel playing 9/11 replays 24/7, just so those who are inclined to file it away prematurely can have a constant reminder of why we need to be killing terrorists whenever we have an opportunity to do so. It doesn't matter if they are Iraqi terrorists, Al Qaeda, Palestinian terrorists, whatever ... we should be killing them like the cockroaches they are. Obviously, some people have short attention spans on this subject.
