I was more deeply disturbed about the tasteless gay remark than I would have been about a tasteless straight one.

That is why I say the "We're here, we're queer, and we want to be your son's Boy Scout Master," approach will breed nothing but trouble.

I think we have all met men and immediately said to ourselves, "He's queer as a three dollar bill!" When you meet the breathy feminine types, you know they are genetic. The blond lead on the "Queer eye" show is an obvious case.

On the other hand, the best "West Coast" lead here is such a "feminine" dancer that everybody "knows" he is Gay. But he is not. He is a Commander in the Navy, and just married one of my favorite partners.

I think most people come down near where I am. If you are gay, I don't think it is a great life style choice, but I won't fault you for it. If kids end up that way, that's OK. Just don't push it to the kids as the way to go.
