RESELLERS AND OEMS have now been notified of price drops on both AMD and Intel desktop processors.
But while AMD has cut prices on its XP 2700+ to 3200+ range, and the 2400+ to 2800+, it is apparently keeping prices at the same level for Athlon 64s, Opteron 246s and Opteron 146s.

So the strategy is going to be that the low end is P4 vs. Athlon and high end is Athlon 64 vs. P4EE.

Looks like Celeron and Duron are both pretty much irrelevant.
