Re: "Whether OBL or not OBL had Iraq on his talking points since 1998 [and I have yet to see proof of that], what difference does it make?"

Since you are hellbent on pretending it isn't so, ask yourself what motivates YOU, for an answer to that. But since you asked me, I just say it means your notion(you know, the one we were discussing?) that Osama wouldn't be supportive of Saddam's Iraq or vice versa, particularly in a quest to attack America, isn't nearly as strong a theory as you think it is.

This is so ridiculous as to be laughable if you weren't serious. If OBL has any real concern about Iraq its because its a Muslim nation albeit a Shia Muslim one. And in that sense, OBL cares about any Muslim nation into whose business the US has stuck its nose. However, to suggest that he cares about Saddam or they were confederates which is what you were trying to do .........well, like I said, its near laughable. Its the equivalent of Al Franken wanting to hang with Don Rumsfeld. LOL!

Re: "You really are starting to disappoint."

How do you feel now?

Laughingly disappointed. At least I am having fun.

Re: "the Islamic terrorist group, Ansar al-Islam, has grown in strength according to your fave, D. Rumsfeld, since we attacked Iraq."

Funny he doesn't actually say that in the link you provide but don't quote from. Try reading both it and the actual memo, and you'll find Rumsfeld says "Today, we lack metrics to know if we are winning or losing the global war on terror. Are we capturing, killing or deterring and dissuading more terrorists every day than the madrassas and the radical clerics are recruiting, training and deploying against us?"

This is what he actually said: "With respect to the Ansar Al-Islam, we are just getting started."

Hmmmmmm.........how do I present this to you in a fashion that you will understand? During the days of Saddam's regime, the Ansar al-Islam was a minor operation with little substance to it. After all, Saddam didn't brook for any opposition. Now its post Saddam, and Rumsfeld is talking about them as if they are a force to be dealt with in Iraq. That means to me [and most of the world] that they have grown in power since Saddam's fall. What does it mean to you, o wise one?!

And why is Rumsfeld leaking this stuff to the outside world. Well, Bush has been telling us that its the former Ba'thists who are the problem, giving the impression that they are growing smaller with each round up and that once we clean them up, it will be easy sailing for us in Iraq. Rumsfeld is telling us that's not true. He is telling that we have not even begun to get started and that we are dealing with a terrorist group not unlike al Qaeda or Hamas.

Why is Rumsfeld breaking ranks with the administration.....well the administration blew him off last week. In other words, things have gotten bad enough that they are fukking with each other. Cute, huh?!

But nonetheless, people like you naively believe whatever you are told and go along blissfully while a big screw is being put into the back of my country. Its makes me very sick!!

Rumsfled asks a question, and states that we don't know. He does not say Ansar al-Islam is stronger(as you claim), and he pointedly does not ever say that(even if they are) the threat wouldn't be still larger if not for our efforts. He in fact certainly seems to believe the threat is smaller for our efforts(wonders!), as he says "we have have made many sensible, logical moves in the right direction, but are they enough?

My God, does everything have to be spoon fed to you like pabulum?

You simply told a lie about what Rumsfeld has said(knowingly or not). He's said nothing that would indicate he'd disagree with me when I say the terrorists are a bit under the weather these days, no matter how firmly you pretend he's indicated otherwise. All you have to do is read, and comprehend the truth he's told.

Right........and the earth really is flat!

Re: "If anything, the pre emptive attack on Iraq has made OBL's convictions just that much stronger."

I'm confident(as I've noted to you before) from having read some of OBL's past statements, that his convictions could not become stronger than they have been for years, and I suspect strongly that Rumsfeld, for one of millions, agrees.

You "suspect" nothing. You don't have a clue. Your president tells you gobbly gook and you suck it up like it was candy. It looks to me like you have never done a bit of independent thinking in your life.
