Not particularly.

Although, even with the $87B, the military
budget has been steadily declining as a %
of the total federal budget. Viewed in
historical context, you can hardly assign
blame for the current deficit to the
defense budget.

Why are you so worried about $87B going "down the drain"
when there are far more massive amounts in the non-defense
portion of the budget going "down the drain"?
