Correct, only SMART defense spending matters. If we spend 500 billion in Iraq and don't win the peace, then it's all a big waste. Could have been done smart at one tenth the price.
The idea is to generate conflict and more terrorism, not less. That's the only way to pay off defense contractors and fund $1 billion in campaign propaganda, and stay in control of, as Rummie says, "all elements of National power".
Kerry's not angry enough to control spending. I'd love to hear him make a strong statement demanding accountability of the billions being transferred, or, for that matter, demand a serious investigation into 9/11.
If you believe as I do that our house is being looted, he's a much too quiet watch-dog, who changes his mind about whether the burgler is his friend bringing a nice juicy steak, or someone to be barked at. Now that Dean's turned on the light he's started barking, but with no effect.
I liked the "regime change in Washington", but he's apparently been scared away from anything that has any plain talk and courage. He's afraid of the powers that be, or listening to handlers saying "look Presidential!", instead looking harmless. |
