Furthermore, there are dozens of instances where independent NGOs and investigative journalists have provided convincing evidence of malfeasance, criminality and corruption on the part of the U.S. government, and the story is suppressed by the corporate media. Here's an excellent example of how the corporations and the government are able to suppress the truth: members.aol.com How much do you happen to know about the CIA's "Mighty Wurlizer", or the findings of the Church Commission? There's abundant evidence that the U.S. government actively engages in policies that are designed to further the goals of U.S. corporate interests to the detriment of the public at large. Clearly we are seeing the pattern being repeated today with the Bush team actively attempting to cover up the real story of what happened on 9/11, on how the decision came to be made to go to war in Iraq on the basis of lies and deceit, or how outting a CIA agent (Ambassodor Joseph Wilson's wife) is now dealt with with a wink and a nod from a wholly corrupt John Ashcroft.
