It's the republican way. Bush's father did much the same thing at the end of the gulf war by leaving the job half-finished with Saddam in power to continue on in his murderous ways. I laugh now, because the guys on the right critized me in the early 90s saying the U.S. couldn't finish the job in Iraq because it did not have a UN mandate to do so. Who knows, maybe next year we'll see the dictator reinstalled to power. Won't that be a sight.
