"The "under God" is an "in your face" by the Christian community to everyone else. Not a very Christian thing to do."

We will have to disagree on this. I say it is an affirmation that this nation was founded with God's Blessings. Every one of the original 13 colonies were established and founded by people who left Britain to establish a place where they could freely practice their own religion.

Read the founders thoughts on this. The idea of free expression of religion and the core Christian values is central to how the government was formed.

Further, I am not suggesting that any child refuse to stand to say the Pledge of Allegiance. You note one phrase that a very small minority of people take exception to. These are generally adults who don't believe and are teaching their children to reject the whole concept. The balance of the Pledge is an expression of loyalty to our country.

I also suggest that if the few agnostics who believe that they knew what is best for America, actually knew what God says and why the Judeo - Christian commandments and covenants are a sound basis for a well functioning society, they may change their mind.

Ignorance is curable. Read for yourself, learn what about the thing that you so readily criticize. It just might change your life and the lives of others for the better.
