I didn't read all of the exchange, but let me broaden
this a bit.

It seems that violence and attacks on US troops, and others,
is escalating.

I am convinced that we must "bring the troops home" , ASAP.

I think this means that we go to the UN, and work out a
deal with them to take over, with all of us contributing
money and troops to rebuilding, but with the US ceding
major control to the UN. Basically, we screwed up, now
please help us out of this mess.

The alternative is an increasing number of US deaths.

I don't know what we are supposed to be accomplishing right
now in Iraq, but if we are trying to show how determined we are, and that we can bring peace and security to this area, we are failing miserably.

I think it is time to clean house, and overhaul the policy, which also means the immediate firing of Rumsfeld and all of his aides in Defense.

The best way to "support the troops" - is to bring them
home very soon - in a few months maximum.
