Yes "living" is probably redundant when you are talking about possibly killing something. You don't kill something that isn't alive...

And yes the definition of human being is a big part of the issue. Different people would define human being differently and the definition you accept would logically have a big impact on your opinion on the question "does abortion kill a human being".

In the post you responded to I was in effect saying that an atheist could view abortion as the killing of a human being. I would add that in fact some of them do think of it as that.
