Tim, Brinker said during the 1990s that you "could not afford to be out of the market for a single day."
January, 2000 he recommended to get out of the market.
March, 2003 he recommended to get back in the market.
Can you say any of that was not great advice?
Now, imagine you are like most people in America and you have 401k's and other retirement funds. These 401k's provide a limited number of options in mutual funds but they certainly allow you to shift from stock funds to bond funds or to money market funds. Now, you followed Brinker's advice. Do you think your retirement account is better off than if you had not followed it?
