<But how anyone expects the UN to rebuild anything when they run away at the first sign of trouble, is a mystery to me.> What a crock. The US chose to run off and set the middle east on fire because a handful of people had the misguided notion that the US can impose a military solution on the whole region and the Europeans don't buy it. The US started a war against the objections of the Europeans -- you cannot expect the Europeans to bail us out now. They came half way by providing limited support in recent days, but they do not want to be part of our grand scheme to crush the will of the people of Iraq and elsewhere in the region to fight back.
