I don't think those files will show up in a search since they are not being created or modified. Your idea is very similar to what the boot-log does--you might want to try that, it's very simple. You could maybe search the log file for a keyword like "Iomega", or maybe the boot process is jumping out right after one of the Iomega drivers is loaded, in which case it would be the last one on the list. Or, maybe it's jumping out as it tries to load the first Iomega driver, in which case you would find none...

And since it's so easy to do, it's worth a shot to either physically unplug the RW drive or set the BIOS to not find it (i.e., disable the IDE channel that it's on).
