Largest Triple-Junction Thin-Film Amorphous Silicon Photovoltaic
Array in Europe

Auburn Hills, Mich., October 28, 2003 — United Solar Ovonic LLC (Uni-Solar Ovonic),
the world leader in thin-film amorphous silicon solar technology and a wholly owned subsidiary
of Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:ENER), today announced the installation of the
largest photovoltaic (PV) system in Europe using triple-junction thin-film amorphous silicon
solar technology.

The photovoltaic array, consisting of 2,574 UNI-SOLAR® Ovonic panels (US-116) divided into
six sub-arrays of approximately 50 kW each, is mounted on a slope behind the "Copal"
supermarket in Grevenmacher, Luxemburg. T
