For those of us that live in the northern latitudes and have children to get off to school it is a blessing. It is an interesting subject, and maybe it will become part of the national debate again some day, although I think it's been talked to death already and people have pretty much settled the issue.

I would love to see someone make the economic argument, but for now, it doesn't pose much of a problem for most people other than setting VCRs. (It amazes me that otherwise incredibly talented and intelligent people.....including my husband.....have trouble doing that. <gg>)

Here is a quick little history all about Daylight Saving Time. You can find rational as well as practical reasons why we observe DST.

Firefighters are trying to instill the habit of changing the batteries in smoke detectors when we set our clocks. Utility districts love the energy savings, and 70 countries around the world observe DST.

Not to mention.....sun worshipers wouldn't have it any other way...especially us northern sun worshipers.

Just as sunflowers turn their heads to catch every sunbeam, so too have we discovered a simple way to get more from our sun.

We've learned to save energy and enjoy sunny summer evenings by switching our clocks an hour forward in the summer.

Asking about my disruption probably wasn't even a real question.

It certainly was a sincere/real question. One of the reasons I love the Internet and particularly SI so much...it lends me an otherwise unattainable understanding of human nature.

And I get to ask lots and lots of questions.
