A young lady who had worked for us was between homes for two weeks in March of '00. We let her move herself and her stuff into our basement, 2,000 sq ft finished walkout with a bathroom. Last March I was in the basement and heard a smoke detector beeping. She had left her detector under the pool table and it took 3 years for the battery to get low. Changing the batteries every 6 months is a little previous.
