I know about the V-2s, and have read of German scientists hopes for refining their work on jet propulsion, but I've never learned anything about plans for an intercontinental rocket or bomber. It's not inconceivable.

But even if the latter two weapon systems were operational, I'd prefer that we'd have (a) been developing similar (and better) weaponry all along and (b) have employed an early warning system...as opposed to simply striking preemptively.
