American jobs have been disappearing for centuries. So what? American jobs are being created too. The absolute level of employment in the country has little to do with trade; but the average productivity of each worker, as measured by the standard of living they can afford, increases as comparative advantages are realized.

I think you should read "On the Wealth of Nations" by Adam Smith, and then some introductory economics text. You will see that buying American despite a better deal elsewhere is actually a destructive practice that erodes our standard of living. Incidentally, I am Canadian, but the same nationalistic nonsense appears here.
