I'm wondering what effect the fires will have on the price of homes in S. Cal. I recently took the money and ran, thinking that home prices were at or near a peak. No one could have predicted fires of this magnitude, but I wonder if this will prop up prices, or even propel them higher, due to a decrease in supply. Or will insurance problems cause a decline in prices? My interest is strictly academic now.
