Vehemently? Centrist is what I see.

The Bush administration reportedly has left in place a Clinton-era policy granting "spousal" benefits to certain domestic partners in the State Department.

As the Clinton administration was about to head out the door, diplomats around the world were directed to provide "spousal" benefits to members of employee's households — including unmarried partners. The benefits included the provision of diplomatic visas, invitations to social events and passes for recreational facilities at U.S. embassies and missions.

According to the Washington Blade, the largest homosexual newspaper in the nation's capital, high-level Bush officials reviewed that policy and chose to keep it in place.
