Truth is: That the vast majority of Americans are too busy with making money and working their butts off to get by that they never have anytime to educate themselves on the facts about US policy both foreign & domestic.

Karl Rove knows this very well and does everything in his power to take advantage of it. As soon as public scrutiny steps up with any sign/semblence of a "critical mass" -- the administration switches facts, figures and assumes most of us will forget <--- because, fact is, most Americans were only half listening the first go round and don't have time/energy to challenge whats now being said.

It seems to me that in practice -- the administration doesn't care much what the media discovers -- they just don't want any single/collective media source consolidating the truth/facts into a genuine irrefutable argument. They succeed at this by shooting the messenger as soon as a story hits. Instead responding to the specifics -- they stonewall/ignore the question and simply state that the media is biased/agendered and additionally question their patriotism/allegience.

You might simply resign yourself to stating that this is just the way it is -- and who am I to do much about it. True, you are pretty much powerless -- especially with a bought & paid for administration as this one; unfortunately there are men and women (US Soldiers) who die daily because they naively believed/bought into the motives of Cheney are genuine & sincere -- and that this administration has got that poor soldier's (and now fatherless family) best interest at heart.
