No, I didn't get involved in 1031 exchanges. Never worked with many investors, other than a builder who bought a few fixer-uppers from me and then I resold them after he spruced them up.

My job wouldn't have been any different, though, because once I found a property for a 1031 candidate, all the required paperwork would have to be done by a lawyer anyway. All I would have done is help negotiate the purchase contract.
