I agree with the basis of the article. I don't think that Apple in the long run was was going to be much of a factor to Java's future .. I

I always looked at the Mac as being desktop publishing related. I none factor when your speaking about future impact. Seems everyone I know that has a Mac is more likly to have Photoshop than a Netscape Navagator stored on the hard drive.
So... what impact was Apple going to have on securing Java's future?
Very little if any at all that I can see.

The key event I see for Java is Netscapes plan to impliment a 100% Java browser not that far down the road. It is these types of applications that will make Java a viable part of tomorrows desktop computing enviorment.
