Economy up 7.2 percent in third quarter (presumably that’s an annualized figure).

All I can say is that I am skeptical.

Give Mark Haines credit for asking a pertinent question: how is such a high level of growth possible without increases in employment?

And also (I would add) --- without more pressure on energy prices than we have seen so far??

Just doesn’t feel to me as though we are in the midst of a major boom. Feelings of course are not a reliable indicator of the state of an economy. I’ll be interested in seeing how that 7.2 number is sliced and diced by thoughtful people, and how it is modified in the future.
