Those offshore jobs result in more people all over the world who will be able to afford products and services that we produce -- trade, back and forth, with the pie getting bigger, instead of carving up a smaller one.

Also, lower-tech, labor-intensive products are produced more cheaply in economies where people don't take jobs for granted -- where the liberal politicians and trial lawyers haven't caused labor costs to soar out of sight because of litigation risks (harassment, wrongful discharge, etc.), unemployment and workers comp. costs (killing California), mandatory benefits, etc.

We live in an international economy.

Some "liberal" parochial thinking is really un-liberal -- like that of antebellum U.S., when some whites worried that newly freed blacks who would work for less would take away their jobs.

Wouldn't it help our economy if those 1 billion Chinese all could afford and want to buy a Cadillac?
