I couldn't believe this when we did it. Neither could I. Still can’t. Just as things start to go right, fate intervenes to screw it up. Fate had nothing to do with it. Stupidity is what intervened. Particularly thorny is a demand by the Turkish military that all its troops must travel and be supplied overland, and that Turkish forces will be responsible for the security of the route. In other words, the Turks want to establish a military presence in the north. No wonder the IGC isn’t interested. How long do you figure it would take for the Turks and the Kurds to get into it? I can’t believe they are still talking about bringing Pakistani troops. Is anybody there thinking at all?
