re: jobs lagging indicator: I've been hearing that for 2 years OMD and I can assure you that "this time its different". Remember, this recession ended in 01. Bush, Snow and Chau used to comment relentlessly that jobs were a lagging indicator. Finally, if you noticed, they stopped.

The reason we have 7% GDP is primarily liquidity driven thanks to AG's 2 year liquidity event. Remember in the early 80s we had Volcker, no chance of this then. As far as bubbles are concerned, we are in another one right now (in real estate) so this is about as good as it gets for Bush.

We will have no robust jobs growth while Bush is in office because he supports things like this:
