Turkey will surely mass troops along their border w Syria, under the cover of sealing their borders against an influx of refugees; as Jordan has already done.

With a mass of Turkish troops on the Syrian border, any mis step by the Syrians in that area will be regarded as a provocation and thus acted upon accordingly;

this will effectively box Syria in.

I am most concerned with the fate and safety of US troops who will have to fight Saddams well armed and highly trained republican guards who are surely guarding his WMD in the Bekkaa Valley.

Because of the US's fear of arab retribution, they are likely to go in without Israel' which is unwise, but unfortunately, and based on the US's history in the region, far too likely, causing an unnecessarily high human cost
