EU softer on China revaluation Oct 31, 2003 EU Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy said on Friday that China should consider pegging its yuan to a currency basket but that China's undervalued currency was not the main cause of the country's competitive edge. "We don't believe the undervaluation of the yuan, or renminbi, is the main cause of China's competitiveness," Lamy told reporters in Beijing.
