Tetra Tech Wins Engineering Services Contract With U.S. Army Industrial Ecology Center

Tetra Tech EMI, Inc. (NasdaqNM:TTEK - News), an alliance partner of Life Energy, is now in the process of obtaining Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) permitting for the Biosphere Process(TM) System in Louisiana and GEM feels confident that preliminary permitting will be completed within the next thirty days.

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 2003--Tetra Tech, Inc. (Nasdaq:TTEK - News) announced today that it was awarded a contract to provide a wide range of engineering services for the U.S. Army Industrial Ecology Center (IEC). The firm fixed-price contract has a maximum duration of three years and a maximum value of $9.7 million.
The major objective of the contract is to assist the Army in implementing environmental management systems (EMS) at its installations and organizations. All federal agencies are required to implement an EMS by December 31, 2005. Tetra Tech will support the Army's transformation plan and mission priorities by assisting in EMS implementation and enhancing productivity and environmental performance for weapons systems and Army installations.

Tetra Tech may also support the Army on other quick-reaction engineering services under the contract, including chemical risk mitigation, unexploded ordnance (UXO) detection and identification, range sustainability, and green munitions development.
