Exploration is, or should be, a continual process with any oil company; as you mentioned discovered oil resources are used up with production. Results of the pinnacle reef, North Giddings Block 3D seismic survey, and plans to drill/or not, will be announced in November. It will take a minimum of three months to drill a pinnacle reef well; production, if the first well is successful, wouldn't start until Q1, 1998 at the earliest. CWEI also has some smaller 3D's being run in south Texas and Mississippi. Production, if these wells are successful, could begin earlier than any pinnacle reef output. Oil company stock prices tend to react well in advance (up to six months) in speculation of success of new exploration/drilling.
