Sounds to me that appeasement in the medicine of the day for the Middle East troubles. Appeasement has never worked and will never work because those that would do free men harm are pushing an agenda that is related to conquest. One need only look at the Vichy in France or the advances the USSR made in the world before Mr. Reagan displaced the appeasers in our own country.

As for your statement "I think the US is a pretty large threat to world peace." I would say your POV is kind of warped, but that is just me.

I do not believe that I made a value judgement. I just think that right or wrong, whether the neighbors like it now or not the state of Israel was formed in 1948 by the United Nations. As a sovereign nation that have the right to peace and tranquility and as a nation they have the right to defend themselves from enemies both internal and external.

Their neighbors tried to take their land from them in 48-49 after it was given to them. The 7 day war in 1967 was a preemptive strike to take territory that was being used to launch artillery into the country. In the Yom Kippur war in 1973 their much larger neighbors attacked them again and from 1960 - today the world in effect forces them to deal with the terrorist PLO and related organizations.

I believe these guys are one tough bunch who would like to live in peace if their neighbors would only let them. Can you understand that? Probably not because it conflicts with your world view.
