According the the following IRS data from 2001:

(see page 8)

A total of $116B in dividend income was declared
in the 2001 tax year. Out of that total amount,
41% was declared on returns showing an income
of less than $100K, and 59% was declared on tax
returns showing an income of more than $100K.

"41%" is a lot more than "less than 1%" the
last time I checked.
