Scott / Good Call

Did a little lurking this morning and came across this subject location. Thanks for referring to our locations, Kerm's Korner and Canadian Oil & Gas Companies. I hope the participants here transfer their insights and comments over to the Canadian Oil thread.

ELAN Energy will be the last of the heavy oil gems to go via the acquisition route. Would like to see Gulf Canada gobble them up and see a spinoff of shares by Gulf to establish a separate entity for all heavy oil operations. I don't think that will happen, but a strong second thought. Word on the street is that Talisman is interested ---- I hope not. My far out speculation is that a company like Ranger Oil will do the trick. Regardless of who it is, ELAN will go.

As for me, I shy away from a company where good % of operations is into heavy oil. I expressed this when heavy oil was the "in thing".

Sweet crude and natural gas is the place to be.

FYI: Kerm's Korner is a non posting location. Rather, it's a place to visit every day to keep abreast of activities in the Canadian Oil & Gas Industry. Three of us maintain the content there. Grab a cup of coffee and pay us a visit.
