I was reflecting on this topic and at all the stuff being said. I don't know if you've actually been there or not on the ground floor or if your info is first hand. I like to believe my eyes when possible. At any rate I've spent some on the ground 'off the beaten track' time in China albeit 3 years ago.

I would suggest Jim Rogers book chapters.indigo.ca
as good view of China. I saw a fair bit of what he saw and heartily concur. We didn't get to Shanghai though. I will say that China was not what I expected... but much much better. Little of the mainstream stuff I read or see printed even today really comes close to what I saw or what Jim Rogers saw. I should have mentioned this sooner I guess. To put it in context mainstream still worries about inanities such as China invading Taiwan...

China ? Buy the dips...
